The Office of Continuing Education (CEd) at The Ohio State University provides excellence for its students and clients through diverse, quality programs and services that create a desire for lifelong learning. Our programs offer choice, quality and a variety of delivery methods designed to meet the needs of nontraditional students and working adults.

Academic Advising Services
CEd’s Department of Credit Programs is an enrollment unit with special emphasis on academic advising for returning adults who are interested in taking undergraduate credit courses at Ohio State.

Bridge Program
Designed specifically for Ohio State University employees who have had little or no college experience, the Bridge Program supports staff in easing into academic life.

Career Exploration Office
The Career Exploration Office (CEO) provides services and programs to assist Ohio State alumni and CEd students in making informed decisions about career choice and career change.

Continuing Education Units
Many adult learners seek documentation for non-credit programming that may be viewed as professional development in the workplace. The process of awarding Continuing Education Units is based upon an evaluation of the program content and instructor’s qualifications using specific criteria.

Conference Management
The CEd Conference Management team—as part of our Department of Conference Management and Professional Development—provides professional expertise in developing, coordinating and managing conferences for academic departments, professional associations, businesses and the university community.

Contractual Outreach
CEd’s Contractual Outreach programs take learning beyond the university walls to your organization. Contractual Outreach serves business, industry, civic organizations, government agencies, professional associations, health care providers and non-profit organizations with both credit and noncredit options.

Military
CEd staff are currently exploring new ways to assist members of the military returning to school. Program planning is underway. Please check back soon for information regarding this important area.

Noncredit Online Courses
Through the Department of Conference Management and Professional Development, CEd offers web-based courses designed to give you the latest in learning, and to provide the skills necessary to acquire professional caliber positions in many in-demand occupations.

Noncredit On-campus Courses
The CEd Noncredit Programs team delivers non-credit courses on campus in business and communication, computer technology and language and culture.

Program 60
Program 60 is a unique opportunity for Ohio’s older citizens (age 60 and over) to sit in on courses at Ohio State on a noncredit, space-available basis.

For more information regarding the programs above, please call (614) 292-8860.
